The Azalea Committee considers the following criteria for invitations to the Azalea.
First and foremost, we look for players who have played in USGA events particularly those players who have made it into match play and won matches. A player that has USGA experience has proven themselves by qualifying at the local level, qualifying again at the tournament site, and finally progressing through matches.
Our second most important criteria are players who have won on a state and regional level. These tournaments tend to have quality fields and most of them require the player to prequalify for the event in some way.
Our third criteria is WAGR rankings. While we do look at rankings, the criteria above will always take priority.
